FOUNDER & DIRECTOR OF MAKERS UNITED
As Richmond Council’s first craft tutor and Community award hero nominee in 2019, Cornelia is passionate about her community in South West London where she lives. With a background in the education sector and a degree in Design, Cornelia has been involved in the creative community for more than a decade.
Over the last few years she has organised various craft fairs, has developed a successful enterprise project for a well-known charity as well as running a micro business herself.
Cornelia will be running From Maker to Tutor programme which she designed herself.
I believe passionately in the value of craft to enhance wellbeing and balance in our busy lives. With a background in teaching and in the museums sector, my professional life has been focussed on learning, heritage and creativity. My craft practice is in textiles, specialising in patchwork and quilting and crochet. I started my own craft business in 2020 and found the support of the Makers United team invaluable in building the foundations of my business.
I joined Makers United as a director to use my skills and experience to help the organisation grow and develop both in supporting makers and in getting more people of all ages involved in crafting
We’d love to hear from you.
ACCOUNTS SYSTEMS AND MONEY MINDSET ADVISOR
On the accounting side, I work with clients who need help with their systems or with setting up financial structures like budgets, cashflows, monthly reporting, and I provide interim accounting support if they need it. I have been self-employed for many years and can advise on how to go about doing this. I also run a programme called Make Peace with Money where I work with individuals and help them to break through their money blocks, feel better about money and take control of their finances.
I am excited to be part of the Makes United Team, and to be here to provide any support I can.
I have worked in marketing communications for many years, advising client companies on everything from how to develop a winning business strategy to developing award-winning creative ideas.
I believe Makers United fulfils a valuable role during these uncertain times and is vitally important both for the well-being of the artists themselves and also to the community in which they live.
CLARA WHICHER-GRANT, MARKETING ADVISOR
I joined Makers United to give back to my community. I believe there’s an enormous pool of talent that remains untapped in my local area. That there are artists and artisans forced away from their craft due to a lack of support and a dearth of willing buyers.
Let me help you craft your story, step off the set rail tracks and find your ideal buyer through Marketing that works for you and your business.

I am a Fashion and Textile Design graduate who loves design in all forms. After a career in children’s publishing I have recently set up my own studio helping small businesses with their graphic design and branding needs. I also create greeting cards, art prints and homewares which I sell under the Zedig Design label. I am super excited to be a part of Makers United. Nothing sparks and nurtures ideas like a passionate creative community!
