FOUNDER & DIRECTOR OF MAKERS UNITED
As Richmond Council’s first craft tutor and Community award hero nominee in 2019, Cornelia is passionate about her community in South West London where she lives. With a background in the education sector and a degree in Design, Cornelia has been involved in the creative community for more than a decade.
Over the last few years she has organised various craft fairs, has developed a successful enterprise project for a well-known charity as well as running a micro business herself.
Cornelia will be running From Maker to Tutor programme which she designed herself.
I have worked in marketing communications for many years, advising client companies on everything from how to develop a winning business strategy to developing award-winning creative ideas.
I believe Makers United fulfils a valuable role during these uncertain times and is vitally important both for the well-being of the artists themselves and also to the community in which they live.
I'm a busy mum of 2 young ladies, pursuing a career in what l love, embroidery. Following a 1st Class Honors degree from London college of Fashion in Product design & development, l pursued a career in fashion buying. But I always dreamed of having my own business. I started this business in 2019 when l started to have a bit more me time and I'm very excited about where the last year has taken me and what the future holds
SADIA & IAN BARLOW, PHOTOGRAPHY
We are Personal Branding photographers with a focus on working with small business owners on their online presence including images for social media and websites. Our unique combination of Ian's focus on form, pattern and composition, and mine on the emotion, gives us a great advantage. Being a part of Makers United to support creative makers is a wonderful initiative which we are proud to be a part of.
ACCOUNTS SYSTEMS AND MONEY MINDSET ADVISOR
On the accounting side, I work with clients who need help with their systems or with setting up financial structures like budgets, cashflows, monthly reporting, and I provide interim accounting support if they need it. I have been self-employed for many years and can advise on how to go about doing this. I also run a programme called Make Peace with Money where I work with individuals and help them to break through their money blocks, feel better about money and take control of their finances.
I am excited to be part of the Makes United Team, and to be here to provide any support I can.
We’d love to hear from you.
